The purpose of this book is to provide practice for developing the spelling skills required for written work at this level.

Each lesson consists of:

• A spelling rule.

• 15 spelling words. For those learners who have no difficulty with the set words, there is space for additional extension words.

• ‘Five a Day’ – These are high frequency words that are often misspelt.

• ‘Using the Words’ – This section allows the learner to use the words in context.

• ‘Skills and Tips’ – These are additional tools to help improve spelling knowledge.

• ‘Puzzle Time’ – Fun activities to reinforce the application of the rule.

• Revision of previous work learnt.

There is a graph for learners to keep a record of their progress as well as a self-assessment for each week.

Provision is made for educators to assess progress every six weeks
