Reading: The passages are of topical and interest covering South African and general knowledge themes.
Interpreting information from advertisements and data etc.
Comprehension: It covers a wide range of comprehension skills.
Language activities i.e. reinforcement of new and learnt language skills.
Visual literacy
Spelling: For those learners who have no difficulty with the given spelling, there are 2 empty columns in the spelling section, where they could be challenged to find other less familiar words using the relevant spelling rule.
Revision: After every 6 units there is a review, where the learners are able to assess their knowledge. The reviews can be used as an assessment tool for the educator.
The activities in these units are varied so that all learning modalities are catered for.
